WCFC takes its name from the Wet’suwet’en word ‘Wetzin’kwa’ which means “flowing blue green or clear waters” referring to the river flowing from Morice Lake to Hazelton.

Moose, mountain goat, grizzly bear, black bear, and deer are the large wildlife species in the area.
